BAR yu-nagi
BAR yu-nagi
Tucked away in a Ginza 6-chome basement, BAR yu-nagi features seasonal fruit and domestic ingredients selected by a bartender with agricultural cooperative experience, tailoring everything from gin and tonics to mocktails to each guest's taste.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Arranged along the counter are herbs and seasonal fruits from across Japan, brimming with peak freshness. Located in the basement of the Konomi Building in Ginza 6-chome, BAR yu-nagi bypasses formal menu lists in favor of an evening where you choose your drink through conversations about the ingredients displayed before you. Drawing on past experience working at an agricultural cooperative, the owner crafts cocktails that spotlight the distinctive qualities of produce nurtured by growers nationwide.
In the glass, standard cocktails are thoughtfully reimagined with fine seasonal ingredients. Familiar classics gain vivid aroma and pure fruit character in options such as a gin and tonic made with Setoda lemon and sudachi citrus, a mojito using pesticide-free spearmint, or a Moscow mule spiked with sharp Shimanto ginger. The possibilities extend to a Bloody Mary highlighting the savory depth of ripe tomatoes, original creations blending whisked matcha with chestnut liqueur, and drinks prepared with carefully brewed coffee.
The bar is equally accommodating when you are not drinking alcohol. Any cocktail can be crafted as an alcohol-free mocktail, allowing the natural flavor of the fruit to take center stage in creations like fresh melon cream sodas and sudachi honey lemonade.
Evoking a vessel resting on calm seas, the interior is a quiet, wood-toned space where the kimono-clad bartender welcomes guests with composed grace. It is a tranquil retreat from daily rush, inviting you to unwind in the fragrant aromas of the day's finest fruit.
